The exhibition runs from 12th to 20th September 2026 at National Trust Cotehele House in Cornwall.
This is what Mark says about his new collection of paintings.
'In this exhibition I wanted to capture my experiences of visiting Cotehele through the seasons. Each painting is developed through memory and feeling during the painting process. The paintings are meditations on those corners of the gardens and estate which caught my eye.
The resulting collection evoke the subtlety of autumn and the vitality of spring and summer. I have also recorded the annual ritual of preparing flowers for drying in the Cut Flower Garden in readiness for the making of the garland in December.
As I warmed to the subject, I realised there is an endless supply of ideas from my regular visits to Cotehele. These will no doubt be developed in the months and years to come.’
