Portrait Commissions

 Portraits by Mark Fielding

Why not commission a portrait? Mark was taught by Robert Lenkiewicz and he paints in a traditional atelier style in the realist tradition.

'I established my Studio Gallery in Ocean Studios, Royal William Yard, Plymouth in 2015 and I run a weekly Portrait Clinic there and teach on a one to one basis. I am an Academician of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Art (SWAc).

I have exhibited portraits at the Mall Galleries in London in both the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual exhibition. In 2018, one of my portraits was shortlisted for the Jacksons Art Competition and I was invited to exhibit at the Affordable Art Fair in Hampstead. In 2020, I reached the second round of the BP Portrait Award.

Over the years I have carried out portrait commissions and dance commissions as I am an active member of the Argentine tango community, running Cafe Flores in Plymouth.'

How it works

Initially, we agree the size, the type of portrait and the price. At this stage a 50% deposit is required to be paid.

For the best results, Mark would invite you to his studio in Plymouth for one sitting which would involve a preliminary sketch and reference photography. At this meeting we would decide the final composition of the portrait. The same process can be dealt with online.

Mark would then paint the portrait and would contact you again when it's completed. He would invite you back to the studio for viewing or send the image online. On payment of the final payment, the portrait can be taken away or sent to you.
